Endless scope, enormous willingness to achieve and a perforamnce-orientated pedigree Photos | Zorriola 2004 16.3h imported Top-5 IBOP KWPN mare Clean X-rays on file 48.83% xx/xo Zorriola is a big framed mare from Holsteiner stamm 8763, destined to have a great future in the sport and breeding worlds. She has a very strong topline with strong hindquarters. Her training has further revealed the international potential we had predicted she would have. She has extraordinary power and scope over fences with a very powerful hind end, and has a beautiful walk, trot and a ground- covering canter. In the IBOP, it was commented that she "opened well in the haunches and showed good attitude and rideabililty." Her classic bloodlines are the foundation of her excellent mind, power and scope. Zorriola was awarded prestigious Top-Five awards in 2008 for KWPN-NA Jumpers for both her IBOP score as well as her Iron Spring Farm Cup score. In 2009, she was the winner of the KWPN-NA Iron Spring Farm Cup for 5 Year olds, putting her at the top of the Top Five list. We look forward to her first foals, given her potential as a producer and performance horse as well as her dam's impeccable lineage. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Zorriola is by the Zion son, Ekstein (Zion-Joost). Ekstein himself is the sire of Olympic competitor Joel, the damsire of 2008 Olympic Gold Medalist Hickstead and Olympic competitor Don Porfirio. ![]() ![]() ![]() Showjumping qualities are strongly anchored in Zorriola's pedigree. Zorriola is out of the great international showjumping mare Corniola (Corrado I-Renomee). Corniola, from Stamm 8763, was a successful international showjumper under German rider Soren Von Ronne and Danish rider Henrik Steen Gundersen until she was retired perfectly sound in 2001. Her international results include:
Zorriola's immediate damline has produced seven approved stallions, two international showjumpers, and a top-selling auction horse. Approved stallions from this damline include: Corrado I won several World Cup Qualifiers and has 10 approved sons. Corniola's dam Aline descends from Holsteiner stamm 8763. Aline is the dam of the KWPN Keur mare Marthago, who is the dam of VDL Silverstone, the best jumper in the 2002 KWPN performance test. Also influential as a dam-sire, Gotthard produced 26 State Premium mares. Gotthard sired over fifty international showjumpers, and in 1975 Gotthard was ranked #1 in terms of prize money won by offspring. Eventually his competing progeny numbered 398, with earnings of almost two million deutschmarks. Gotthard is the dam-sire of the great progenitor Voltaire. On the damside we also find the blood of Renomee Z who competed in the Atlanta Olympics in 1996 and was a full sister to the legendary showjumping mare and producer, Ratina. ![]() Corrado I's sire, the legendary Captiol I, was one of the great modern Holsteiner showjumping sires. Sired International Jumpers ridden by top riders such as Frank Sloothaak (Cassini I), Nick Skelton (Cathleen), and Otto Becker (Dobel's Cento). ![]() She is, through her dam , a half-sister to Conspiracy M2S, a rising star on the roster of stallions at Morningside Stud. To date, all of Zorriola's full and half sisters are being retained by Morningside Stud for their broodmare band.

At the September, 2008, KWPN-NA keuring at Pennock Point, Zorriola completed and passed her IBOP performance test for jumpers with 8's for rideability, willingness and attitude. She also scored very well in the Iron Spring Farm Cup for 4- year old Jumper mares and won First Place and the cooler. She received excellent comments from the Jury about her potential in sport at the top levels. In 2009, she was the winner of the 5 Yr. old Iron Spring Farm Cup and overall champion of the three age groups. She was described in the Netherlands KWPN news as having an excellent mind, being very careful and having impressive power and scope.
